Just a quick post.....

to show you what I've been up to.....

19 tote bags sewn....

and filled with goodies. (Thanks to my little helper.)

And the 344 foam flowers we cut out. (Thanks to my big helper.)

(The flowers were for the kids to make leis at the class Luau Party.)

Nathan, the Kindergarten graduate!

I'm amazed at how quickly this school year has gone. It's been a lot of fun.

Nathan is quite proud to say now that he is a First Grader!

What was I thinking?

Well, let's see....I was thinking that the kids in Nathan's class should get a goody bag at the End of Year Party. Filled with fun stuff for the summer. Bubbles. Card games. Candy.

And of course, I was thinking that they can't be just normal store bought bags.

Oh no. They'll have to be cute, reuseable cloth tote bags. Made by yours truly, Super Room Mom.

Yep, that means 19 tote bags. Sewn, filled and ready to give out on May 29th. (In addition to the dozen other things to do by that date.)

Happily, I have completed 9 bags and cut everything for the other 10.

Let me just say that you can make a lot of tote bags from a thrifted bed sheet! Purple, flowery gingham for the girls and green gingham for the boys.

The End of Year Party is going to be a Hawaiian Luau. I wanted to add something to the tote bags to make them look more tropical. Maybe a little shaped gift tag - hibiscus for the girls, surf board for the boys. What do you think?

Mother's Day Fun

Nathan was very excited when he woke up Sunday morning.

"Today's the day! I can't believe it!"

What could possibly be so exciting for him.....spending the day with his Mom and Grandma, of course.

We had a lovely lunch at Olive Garden.

Then hit the Fun Center for Bumper Boats, where we all got soaked.

And there was Go Cart racing too. (Yes, that's my dear son blowing a raspberry at me!)

Thanks for a great Mother's Day Mom! We love you!

Things boys do

Go to the beach.

Dig a big hole.

Play in the freezing cold ocean.

Get shorts and sweatshirt wet.

Sit in hole to stay out of the wind.

Have Daddy bury you to get warm.

Thank Mommy for remembering to pack a change clothes.
